Why Odd Community exists, and what we will and won't build.

Most software today is optimized for one of two things: your productivity or your attention. The first turns you into a faster worker. The second turns you into an audience. We started Odd Community because neither of those is the part of life that actually matters.

We are not anti-AI. We are pro-human. Those are not the same sentence.

What matters is the friend whose birthday you almost forgot. The journal you write because nobody is watching. The goal you set with three friends over dinner. The words a local teaches you that no language app would dare to. The group that actually manages to meet, in person, twice a month.

What we build

Odd Community is a publisher of free apps. Each one is small, focused, and built around a human relationship:

• BestFriend — a private home for the people who matter, so you never forget a birthday or drift apart by accident.
• Raw Daily — an anonymous daily journal you can share without a profile attached.
• Quarterly Goals — friends setting goals together, every three months, gently.
• Local Language — casual, real language taught by locals — slang and all — with the teachers getting paid.
• Odd Community — our community app for groups that plan, gather, and belong — including membership-based communities.

Every app offers optional encrypted cloud sync and backup across your devices. The sync serves you — it never serves an advertiser.

What we won't do

• No feeds, no follower graphs, no engagement algorithms.
• No selling or sharing your data. Ever. Your information is not our business model.
• No dark patterns, streak-shaming, or notification spam.
• No optimizing for time-on-screen. Success is what happens off the screen.

Community means real life

"Community" is a word the internet hollowed out. For us it means events, dinners, groups that meet, people who show up. Our software is a means to that end — a way to make getting together easier, not a place to be instead of together.

It's not about money. It's not about scale. It's about relationships — deeper, at a human level. If an app we make doesn't move you closer to a real person, we haven't done our job.
