Odd Community Terms of Use
One terms page for every Odd Community app. The common terms come first. Each app then has its own section with the terms that apply to that app.
Who we are
These are the terms for the apps published by OddBold LLC, trading as Odd Community (“Odd Community”, “we”, “us”): BestFriend, Raw Daily, Hansel and Quarterly Goals. OddBold LLC is the publisher of every app on this page. Contact: oddcommunityreview@gmail.com.
How these terms work
This page holds the terms for each Odd Community app. The common terms on this part of the page apply to all of them. Each app’s section sets out the terms specific to that app. Where a clause appears only in one app’s section, it applies only to that app.
Accounts
You can use each app without creating an account. Where an app offers an optional account, its section explains what the account is for.
Your statutory rights
Nothing on this page limits your statutory consumer rights, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
We date each change at the top of this page. Where an app has its own effective date, it is shown at the start of that app’s section, and that section’s own commitments about changes still apply.

BestFriend
BestFriend is free, local-first, and sells nothing. The optional account exists only for encrypted cloud backup of your data.
1. The agreement
By using BestFriend you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. BestFriend is published by OddBold LLC, trading as Odd Community. The optional account and cloud backup service are also operated by OddBold LLC. "We" and "us" mean OddBold LLC.
2. What BestFriend is
A private, local-first app for keeping up with a small circle of close friends.
BestFriend is free. It contains no in-app purchases. Every feature — adding friends (unlimited), satellites, engagement logging, contact status, reminders and the relationship graph — works with no account, no email address and no payment, indefinitely.
3. Your data is yours
We claim no ownership of anything you put into BestFriend. By default it never leaves your device. If you enable encrypted backup, you grant us only the narrow permission to store and transmit the encrypted blob your device produces, for the purpose of giving it back to you. We cannot read it.
4. Your responsibilities
- Keep your device and your recovery phrase secure.
- Only record information about other people that you are entitled to record, and use it for your own personal purposes.
- Do not attempt to break, reverse-engineer for circumvention, or overload the service.
5. Recovery phrase — read this one
The recovery phrase is the only key to your encrypted backup. We do not have a copy and we cannot reset it. If you lose it, your backup cannot be recovered by us, by you, or by anyone. This is the price of end-to-end encryption and we will not pretend otherwise.
6. Accounts and cloud backup
- Creating an account is optional. Its only purpose is to enable cloud backup of your data. It enables no other features of the app.
- How much we back up depends on your account's backup capacity. Some accounts back up your first 5 friends; others back up your whole roster.
- Friends beyond what is backed up remain stored on your device permanently and at no cost. Local use of the app is always unlimited and always free, with or without an account. Nothing you add is ever deleted or blocked because of your account state.
- Backup capacity is a property of an Odd account, which covers more than this app. It is arranged and managed outside BestFriend. Nothing is sold or offered within the app.
- Because we sell nothing through the app, questions about cancelling or obtaining a refund for any service arranged elsewhere are handled by whoever sold it to you, under their terms.
7. Termination
You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or breach these terms.
8. No warranty; limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties, and our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights.
9. Changes
We may update these terms and will update the date above. Material changes will be surfaced in the app before they take effect.

Raw Daily
Raw Daily is a private voice-and-text journal by OddBold LLC, trading as Odd Community.
Raw Daily has no app-specific terms. The common terms at the top of this page apply. What Raw Daily stores, and what its optional sign-in and anonymous sharing send, is described in Raw Daily’s privacy section.
Hansel
Free dictation for your Mac. What it needs and how to get help.
Odd Community · OddBold LLC
Hansel is published by OddBold LLC, trading as Odd Community. Effective 6 October 2026. Contact: oddcommunityreview@gmail.com.
Supported release
This direct Mac release is for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 15 or later. Intel Macs, Windows, Linux, iPhone and iPad are not supported. Download from Hansel’s official download page and follow the installation instructions.
Using dictation
After a model download, Hansel recognizes speech locally. Microphone permission enables recording; accessibility permission supports shortcuts and text insertion. Speech recognition can make mistakes. Review the text before sending it, relying on it or using it for a consequential decision.
Only record audio you have permission to record and use. You control where dictated text is inserted or shared. Other apps’ handling of that text is outside Hansel’s local-history controls.
Guest use and optional accounts
You can use guest dictation without signing in. Accounts and membership checks require an internet connection. Existing membership access is checked with the account service; this release does not create membership from a local cached identity.
All local Hansel features are free without an account or membership, including dictation, encrypted history, Your Words and voice shortcuts. There are no membership quantity limits on custom words or shortcuts. Valid shortcut-trigger rules still apply. An optional shared Odd membership is planned for device sync, cloud storage backup and premium AI models. These future services are not available yet. Planned pricing is $5.95/month or $47/year, saving 34.2% compared with twelve monthly payments. Checkout is not available. No lifetime plan is offered.
Existing subscriptions and billing questions
If you already pay for a membership, refer to your checkout confirmation and Stripe receipt for the plan and billing details. Hansel’s Existing billing control in the signed-in profile menu requests the account’s billing portal. If you have no billing account, it does not open or you need help with cancellation or a refund request, contact oddcommunityreview@gmail.com. Do not send payment-card details or account tokens.
Signing out, deleting local history, removing the app and requesting account deletion do not themselves cancel a Stripe subscription. For any existing charges or refund request, contact support. These product-use terms do not change your existing purchase terms or any statutory consumer rights.
Data, updates and support
See Hansel privacy information for local retention, export and deletion. Export any history you want to keep before deleting it. Exported files are readable and are outside Hansel’s encrypted storage.
Model downloads and updates require internet access. Finish recording and transcription before restarting for an update. Contact oddcommunityreview@gmail.com with your app version, macOS version and the step that failed.
Quarterly Goals
Quarterly Goals (store listing “QG – Quarterly Goals”) is published by OddBold LLC, trading as Odd Community. Version 1.0 keeps everything on your phone and has no account or sign-in.
Quarterly Goals has no app-specific terms for version 1.0. The common terms at the top of this page apply. Connecting with friends and an optional cloud backup are planned for later versions and are not part of version 1.0. See Quarterly Goals’ privacy section.
